Unforgettable

Today, I heard a sound track that completely went right into my heart with just the first two words of the song. It's not even the words, but the feelings from the singer. It's Hua Xin (Painted Heart) by Zhang Liang-ying. Despite the fact that she sang the song in the first movie, the recent version of the song definitely shows more maturity and improvement on interpreting the soul of the music. That's what makes music universal. There's no need for words when you can just feel it in the flow of the music, and the tone of the voice. This makes me realize how much I want to compose something like that, something that's so powerful that it shoots right through your heart. Like the Chinese idiom: 刻骨銘心. To be famous is hard, because you need the right place and time, but to leave something historic is another story. Fame is only one step of the stairwell while History is at the very top of it. Popularity lives as long as people remember, and the only way to ensure that is to make something unforgettable.
